Feel. Heal. Connect.

Counselling and therapy for adults, youth, and children — rooted in compassion, inclusion, and holistic care.

Accessible, trauma-informed therapy in Vancouver and online.

A calm, confidential space to begin — no pressure, no judgment.

A Note from Mariana Barbosa

I'm Mariana, and I created Nivra because I know how heavy life can feel when you're carrying pain alone.

As a mother — and someone who has walked close to the realities of substance misuse, immigration, and trauma — I bring deep empathy and presence to every session. My lived experiences shape the way I listen, attune, and stand beside you.

My goal is to offer a calm, inclusive space where you can reconnect with yourself, feel understood, and move toward healing at your own pace.

Who I Help

At Nivra, I support clients navigating:

Anxiety, Depression & Mood Disorders

Support for chronic stress, emotional fatigue, and emotional patterns that make daily life feel heavy or overwhelming.

Trauma & PTSD

Gentle, body-centered approaches to healing past wounds, restoring a sense of safety, and understanding triggers.

Substance Misuse & Harm Reduction

Compassionate support for individuals and families affected by substance misuse, shame, and cycles of relapse in recovery. Recovery often means adopting harm reduction strategies to anticipate emotional stability and a better quality of life.

Youth & Children

Helping young people with bullying, withdrawal, low self-esteem, identity, and social or school challenges.

Relational Challenges

Building healthier connections, boundaries, and communication patterns in families, partnerships, and close relationships.

Grief & Loss

Support through bereavement, immigration-related grief, and other visible and invisible losses.

Therapy available in English and Portuguese (on request).

Why Nivra Is Different

At Nivra, therapy isn’t about fixing you — it’s about creating a safe, relational space
where healing can unfold over time.

Inclusive by Design

Therapy for all — regardless of race, cultural background, religion, gender, or sexual orientation. Every identity and story is welcome here.

Holistic

Integrating mindfulness, body awareness, and Eastern-informed practices that move beyond traditional talk-only therapy.

Accessible

Sliding-scale options to help make therapy more affordable and sustainable for those who need it most.

Relational

A safe, authentic connection between therapist and client — because healing begins in relationship.

Services

I offer integrative, trauma-informed counselling that blends evidence-based and embodied approaches, tailored to your needs.

Individual Therapy

Gentle, evidence-based support for adults dealing with anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, or trauma. Together we explore patterns, strengthen self-awareness, and rebuild a sense of calm and possibility in your daily life.

Youth & Child Therapy

Playful, compassionate sessions that help children and teens express emotions, process stress, and build confidence. Supporting young people as they navigate school, friendships, identity, and family changes.

Trauma & Somatic Therapy

A body-based approach to healing that honours how trauma lives in the nervous system. We combine talk, breath, movement, and mindfulness to gently release stress, support regulation, and restore safety in the body.

Integrative Counselling

Bridging modern psychology with Eastern-inspired and embodied practices for deep, meaningful healing. A holistic approach that honours your mind, body, and inner wisdom — not just your symptoms.
