Individual Therapy
In-person in Vancouver, or online.
Some things are easier to carry with someone else in the room.
Individual therapy is a space that’s entirely yours — no one else’s schedule, needs, or reactions to manage. Whether you’re working through anxiety, depression, a difficult transition, or simply trying to understand yourself better, sessions are shaped around what you actually need, not a fixed program.
What individual therapy can help with
- Anxiety and persistent worry
- Depression and low mood
- Life transitions — becoming a parent, relocation, grief and loss, relationship endings, career changes
- Self-esteem, boundaries, and people-pleasing patterns
- Processing past experiences that still affect you today
Addiction & Substance Use Support
Individual therapy is also a space to look honestly at substance use — whether that’s a drinking pattern that’s grown beyond what feels comfortable, cannabis use that’s become harder to moderate, or a cycle of relapse that brings more shame each time. This work follows a harm-reduction approach: understanding what the substance is doing for you, reducing risk at a pace that’s sustainable, and working toward the goals that matter to you, without requiring abstinence as a starting condition.
A first language, not a translated one
Sessions are available in Portuguese and Spanish for clients who process things more naturally in their first language, particularly around experiences shaped by immigration, cultural adjustment, or distance from family.
Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
How long does therapy usually take?
There’s no fixed timeline — some people come for a few months to work through a specific issue, others stay longer as new things come up. We’ll check in regularly on what’s working and what you need.
What if I don’t know exactly what I want to work on?
That’s completely normal, and not something you need to have figured out before starting. The first session is about understanding where you’re at, not arriving with a plan already in hand.
Do you offer sessions in Portuguese or Spanish?
Yes — sessions are available in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, depending on what feels most natural for you to work in.
Is this available online, or only in person?
Both — in-person in Vancouver, or online.
